About this Project
A 30,000 square foot renovation to the entire existing one-story building and a 30,000 square foot addition of a second floor of the C. Burr Artz Library in historic downtown Frederick, Maryland. The exterior of the building features curved walls, expansive windows, two barrel-vaulted roofs, two towers, and a rooftop terrace. The central focal point of the interior is a 50 foot tower housing a hanging staircase with polished oak risers. The staircase is suspended from stainless steel rods and cantilevered steel beams.
