About this Project
The historic Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church was built prior to the Civil War in 1854. This complex project involved demolition of a metal building attached to the original sanctuary and construction of a three-story above ground structure and half basement. The new space includes a commercial kitchen, multipurpose room, classrooms, administrative area, and an elevator. The building utilized a structural steel frame with elevated concrete slabs on a metal deck. The exterior facade includes stone, brick, precast masonry veneer, and vinyl siding.
